MBB: Lasers Suffer Tough Loss to Albertus Magnus

Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers fell to the Albertus Mangus Falcons by a score of 102-83. The loss drops the Lasers to 5-8 on the season and 2-4 in conference play, while the Falcons moved to 7-7 and 6-2.

After the Falcons got out to an early 10-4 lead, the two teams would trade baskets, before the Lasers went on a 7-2 run to take a brief 20-19 lead with just over 12 minutes left in the first half. After the Falcons retook the lead, the Lasers would go an 8-0 run to grab their largest lead of the game at 29-25. But the Falcons responded with an 11-2 run of their own, and took a 44-37 lead into halftime.

An early 7-0 run by the Falcons put them in control, and they would hold a double-digit lead for a majority of the second half. They would build their lead up to 24 with six minutes left in the game. Lasell was able to get the lead down to 13, but were unable to get any closer before ultimately falling 102-83.

The Lasers were led by EJ Day, who scored 31 points, and dished out 12 assists. He also added four steals The Lasers had two other double digit scorers, as Conan McCusker and Quinton Partee Jr. each scored 19 points. Demerrick Warren led the team in rebounds with six.
