MBB: Lasers Outlasted by Wildcats

Providence, RI - The Lasell Lasers Men's Basketball team fell to the Johnson & Wales Wildcats by a score of 71-62. The loss drops the Lasers to 5-7 on the season, and 2-3 in conference play. The Wildcats are now 5-7 and 3-3. The Wildcats swept the season series having won 74-71 in overtime earlier in the season.

After the Lasers took an early 5-4 lead, the Wildcats went on a 12-0 run over a five minute stretch to take a 16-5 lead. But the Lasers would scratch back point-by-point, and used a 7-0 run to get back in the game. JWU would hold a 32-29 lead at the half.

Similar to the first half, the Wildcats used a 12-0 run to take control, holding a 44-31 lead five minutes into the second half. The two teams would trade baskets the rest of the way, with the Lasers never getting closer than seven, resulting in a 71-62 win for JWU.

The Lasers were led by EJ Day's 23 points and six assists. Day also added six rebounds. Quinton Partee Jr., the reigning GNAC Rookie of the Week, added 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Conan McCusker led the Lasers with eight rebounds.
