MBB: Lasell Lose Barnburner to Wheaton

Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers fell to the Wheaton Lyons by a score of 93-88 on Tuesday night. The loss drops the Lasers to 3-3 on the season, while the Lyons also move to 3-3.

The Lyons started the game on a 12-4 run to take the early lead three minutes into the game. The two teams would trade baskets over the next 14 minutes. The Lyons would then go on an 8-0 run to take their largest lead of the game at 54-40. They would hold a 56-44 lead at the half.

The Lasers would slowly chip away in the second half, eventually tying the game up at 63 with 13 minutes left in the game. They would then finish off a 13-0 run with a three by Karim Belhouchet to take a 66-63 lead, their first of the game. The Lasers would extend their lead to as many as six. With six and a half minutes remaining, the game was all tied at 78. Wheaton take control from that point forward, as they went on a 10-0 run. The Lasers would battle back, and get as close as four, but were unable to get any closer, with the Lyons winning 93-88.

EJ Day led the way for the Lasers with 28 points, 23 of which came in the second half. Two other Lasell players scored in double digits, as Quinton Partee Jr. and Almando Marinez each scored 10. Aidan Morin led the Lasers with 11 rebounds.
