Newton, MA - A historic Field Hockey season for Lasell came to an end on Wednesday, as the Lasers fell to Colby-Sawyer 2-1. The Lasers end the season at 15-2, while the Chargers are now 14-4.

It was a defensive led game, as neither team scored until the 51st minute when Lily Stark scored on a feed from Abbey Playle, putting the Lasers up 1-0. It was Stark's 19th of the season and 49th of her career. But just minutes later the Chargers would tie things up at one a piece. They would then score with just two minutes to go. Despite the Lasers best efforts, they were unable to tie things up, as CSC took the 2-1 win.

Despite winning the shot battle 16-15, the Lasers trailed 11-3 in penalty corners. Lasers goalie Courtney Tello was stellar in net, making 10 saves.

The Lasers will lose 65% of their goal scoring in Lily Stark, Sheridan Blaha, and Abbey Playle, as the trio combined for 61 goals. But they return a number of young key contributers including Jacquelyn Scopa, Kaylene Ellis, and Halleen Seguin. A key returner wil be goalie Courtney Tello, as she is second in program history with 32 career wins, trailing only Denise Landry who had 41. Her 15 wins this season also only trails Landry's 16 in 2017.
