Weston, MA - The Lasell Field Hockey Team continued their historic start to the season with an 8-1 win over Regis on Wednesday. This moved the Lasers to 6-0 on the season, and 4-0 in GNAC play while the Pride are now 0-7 and 0-3.

The sixth straight win ties the program record for longest winning streak, which was set in 2018. But the two winning streaks are quite different, as the 2018 streak saw the Lasers play three one goal games , including two OT games. They outscored their opponents 32-15 during that stretch. This year's Lasers have blown the doors off the competition, outscoring their opponents 45-5.

That wasn't the only history made on Wednesday, as Lasers goalie Courtney Tello won her 23rd career game, becoming the second most winningest goalie in school history. She made four saves across the first three quarters before having the fourth quarter off. She passes Linda Williams '06, and now only trails Denise Landry, who won 41 games. Williams had achieved her 23 wins over 71 games, while Tello has played just 41.

The Lasers opened the scoring in the first when Lily Stark found the back of the net less than four minutes into the game. After a quiet rest of the first quarter, the Lasers doubled their lead earlier in the second. It came when former Regis student, Sheridan Blaha worked her way through the defenders and fired one passed the goalie. Stark would then score another goal before halftime to make it 3-0 at the break.

The Lasers really started to pile things on in the third, with Blaha opening the quarter up with her second goal of the game. Stark then completed the hat trick minutes later to make it 5-0. Before the end of the quarter Kaylene Ellis would score her fourth goal of the season to make it 6-0.

The fourth quarter saw two more goals from the Lasers, one each from Mckensie Lennon and Kaitlin Bedell. For Lennon, it marked her second consecutive game with a goal.

With her third goal of the night, Stark, who now has 10 goals on the season, recorded her 40th career goal and seventh career hat trick.

With her two goals, Blaha now has 37 in her Lasell career, passing Caitlyn Walker'08 for fourth most in school history.

Up next - The Lasers will look to pass the 2018 team's mark, and win their seventh consecutive game when they take on USJ at 12pm in CT.
