Newton, MA – The Lasell University Field Hockey team remained undefeated on Saturday afternoon, defeating new GNAC member New England College.

This matchup was hyped up all week as both teams came into the game undefeated in conference play and boy did this game deliver. Both teams came out strong on the defensive end as neither team scored in the first half.

After the intermission it took Lasell just six minutes to capitalize and score the first goal of the game off the stick of graduate student Abbey Playle. It wouldn't take long for the Lasers to add to their lead as graduate student Sheridan Blaha deflected a shot from Kayleigh Miller into the net just five minutes later.

Being challenged by the urgency and pressure from the Pilgrims offense in the fourth quarter, the Lasers defense stood strong with two huge saves by goalie Courtney Tello and defensive save from Paige Jette.

Tello saved 10 shots for the Lasers, Mckensie Lennon and Kaleigh Miller each had an assist. Blaha's goal was her 50th career goal between her careers at Regis and Lasell.

Up Next: The Lasers host a non-conference matchup vs Salve Regina at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, September 16th.
