Chicopee, MA - The only thing hotter than the weather on Thursday was the Lasell University offense, as they scored a school record 12 goals in a 12-0 win over Elms College. The Lasers are now 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. The Blazers are now 0-3 and 0-1.

It was a non-stop onslaught by the Lasers, as they outshot the Blazers 35-0, and took 11 penalty corners to Elms' zero.

Lily Stark opened the scoring just 90 seconds into the game. They then doubled their lead midway through the quarter on a Kaylene Ellis goal. The Lasers then scored three goals in a two and a half minute span, with goals from Johanna Snyder, Stark, and Halleen Seguin. This gave the Lasers a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. Stark scored the lone goal of the second quarter to complete the hat trick.

Just like the first half, the second half started with a Lily Stark goal, this time just 54 seconds into the half, giving her four for the game. After an Elms own goal, a pair of freshman joined the fun with Jacquelyn Scopa and Brooklyn Northcutt scoring goals. For Northcutt, a freshman from Durham, NH, it marked her first career goal. This made it 10-0 heading into the fourth. Seguin would join Stark in the hat trick club, scoring a pair of goals in the fourth to wrap up the scoring.

The 12 goals breaks the school record of 10, which had been done five times previously. The first occasion occurred on 10/20/2007 against Regis in a 10-0 win. The most recent occassion also happened on 10/20, just 14 years later in 2021 when the Lasers defeated Albertus Magnus.

Stark's four goals tied for the fourth most in a game in school history, and is only the 10th time someone has scored four or more goals. It is Stark's sixth career hat trick, breaking the school record of five previously held by Caitlyn Walker '09. She also passed Walker for career goals, now ith 37 to Walker's 35. After her three goals against Framingham State in the last game, this marks the second time in her career that she has recorded hat tricks in back to back games. She is the only player in school history to do that, having also previously done it last season.

Goalies Courtney Tello and McKenna Ecker had easy nights, each playing a half and facing zero shots. Tello started in net, picking up her third win on the season, giving her 20 for her career, tying Christine Thornton '12 for the third most in school history.

Up Next - The Lasers will look to continue their fast start to the season when they host NEC on Saturday at 1pm.
