Newton, MA - The Lasell University Field Hockey team remained undefeated (2-0) on Monday, defeating Framingham State by a score of 5-1.

Framingham State opened the scoring with an early goal that found the Lasers down 1-0, just 35 seconds into the game. It wouldn't be too long of a wait for the Lasers to get going though as transfer Abbey Playle continued her outstanding play, burying a goal just a minute later. Lasell would tack on two more goals in the opening period one from Senior, Lily Stark and the other from Graduate Student Sheridan Blaha, assisted by Mckensie Lennon.

The Lasers defense held strong after the lone Rams goal, allowing for more opportunities on the offensive end. Stark would go on to score two more goals, the second assisted by Lennon. Both goals came in the third period to extend the Lasell lead to four and eventually win them the game.

In net, it was a battle of sisters, as Lasell's Courtney Tello picked up the win over her sister Kaitlyn who started in net for the Rams.

Up Next – The Lasers travel to Elms College on Thursday, for a 7:00 match to start GNAC play.
