FH: Lasers fall to Simmons in GNAC Semi Final 

Brighton, MA

The #6 seeded Lasell University field hockey fell to the #2 seeded Simmons Sharks 4-0 Wednesday night at Daly Field.

The Sharks scored 6 minutes before halftime when Sydney Gonyea (Lebanon, NH) set up Riley Lambert (Virginia, VA) to give Simmons a 1-0 lead.  Seven minutes into the third period, Gonyea got her second assist of the game when she aided Anna Tedeschi (Hanover, MA) in her goal to increase the Shark lead.

In the 51st minute, the Sharks would score their third goal of the game when Izzy Sciplini (Shrewsbury, MA) found the back of the net. Hannah Groves (Durham, ME) got the assist. Three minutes later, Sydney Gonyea would make it 4-0.

The score would remain the same when the final whistle blew. 

Lasell goalie Courtney Tello (Nashua, NH) finished the game with seven saves and the Sharks goalie Emma Sheehan (Taunton, MA) finished with 2 saves. 

McKensie Lennon (Jamestown, R.I.) and Lily Stark (Saco, Maine) were named to the all-tournament team.

The Lasers end their season at 11-8 while the Simmons Sharks advance to the GNAC Championship.
