NEWTON, Mass. – Junior Sam Taylor (Hanover, Mass.) scored from a midfield fast break in the last minute of the game, securing Lasell College a 3-2 win against the University of Massachusetts Darmouth on Thursday in non-conference field hockey action at Griller Field.

The Lasers won their third straight game to advance their record 7-4, while the Corsairs fall 1-7 overall.

Junior Izzy Contois (Conway, Mass.) opened the scoring for Lasell at 13:13 in the first half with her second goal of the season, with an assist from senior Cailin Flannery (Medford, N.J.), knocking the ball in the bottom left corner. UMass answered four minutes later when junior Hailey Boucher scored an unassisted goal, her first of the season.

Flannery also assisted on Lasell's second goal when she sent the ball back into the arch after a rebound shot, assisting junior Mindy Esposito (Sunderland, Mass.), who tipped the ball in from the left post, giving Lasell a 2-1 lead at halftime.
