GNAC Names Samantha Taylor as Field Hockey Player of the Week

NEWTON, Mass. (10/24/17) – After a striking performance in Lasell's 3-0 victory over Simmons, Samantha Taylor (Hanover, Mass.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Taylor added four goals and one assist in the Lasers' 2-1 week. The sophomore forward tallied one goal in a non-league overtime victory over Western Connecticut State, before pouring in three goals in the shutout against Simmons. Taylor's hat trick performance gave Lasell field hockey a first-round bye for the postseason, and the No. 1 seed for the tournament, for the first time in program history. Taylor now has 15 goals on the year, a statistic that ranks fifth among league opponents.

Taylor and the Lasers will finish up the regular season on Wednesday, October 25 with a non-league contest at Grellier Field. The Lasers will face Framingham State with game time set for 3:30 p.m.
