Field Hockey Shuts Out Becker College 3-0

LEICESTER, Mass. (9/3/16) - The Lasell Field hockey team rolled to 2-0 overall on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Hawks of Becker College 3-0 at Alumni Field.

The Lasers outshot the Hawks 28-1, as Lasell senior forward Courtney Braman (Gardner, Mass.) sparked the scoring in the 33rd minute on a loose ball in front of the net. Freshmen Grace Duguay (Watertown, Mass.) and Samantha Taylor (Hanover, Mass.) both scored in the second half to cap the 3-0 victory.

Junior Denise Landry (New Milford, Conn.) earned the win in the cage for Lasers without being contested for the 70 minutes of play, while Hawks sophomore goalkeeper Elysabeth Jefferies (Lisbon Falls, Maine) stopped a tremendous 17 saves in the deficit.

Lasell will travel to Clark University on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. matchup, while Becker will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they play host to Mount Ida College at 4:00 p.m.
