Three Lasers Collect GNAC Corvias Weekly Honors

NEWTON, Mass. (9/28/15) – Lasell women's soccer junior Megan Cullen (Amesbury, Mass.) and field hockey sophomore Denise Landry (New Milford, Conn.) and freshman Cailin Flannery (Medford, N.J.) earned their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias weekly accolades, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Cullen was tabbed women's soccer player of the week after a standout performance for the Lasers, recording her first hat trick of the season in a 4-0 triumph over conference foe Simmons College. The Amesbury, Mass. native leads all players in the conference with nine goals, and has scored in all but two contests for the Lasers.

Flannery made her first GNAC honor a memorable one, as she grabbed both player and rookie of the week, scoring in all three contests for the Lasers. The Medford, N.J. native scored a pair of goals in a 6-3 loss to Salve Regina, before unleashing four goals - her first collegiate hat trick – in an 8-0 victory against Elms. Flannery ended the week with a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win against the Hawks of Becker College for a total of seven goals overall.

Landry, this week's GNAC goalkeeper of the week, recorded her second and third shutout of the season, blanking Elms College and Becker College. Landry grabbed 25 saves in the three games played for the Lasers, and leads the GNAC with 85 saves overall.
