Eastern CT Knocks off Lasell in Field Hockey

The Lasell College field hockey team dropped a 3-0 non-conference result at Eastern Connecticiut State on Saturday afternoon. The loss dropped Lasell to 1-2 on the season while the Warriors improved to 2-1 over for the 2014 season.

Denise Landry made 12 saves in the goal for Lasell, stopping 12 of the 15 shots on goal she faced.

Deisy Naranjo, Alex Kallgren, and Marykate Custer each scored goals for the hosts, and Samantha Scayo made three saves to earn the shutout for Eastern Connecticut.

Eastern Connecticut opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Kallgren scored on a feed from Mackenzie Bower off a penalty corner. Custer made it a 2-0 score for Eastern when her shot from outside defelcted off a defender past the Lasell keeper in the 45th minute. Naranjo scored the third and final goal of the game in the 60th minute off another penalty corner to produce the final 3-0 margin.

Lasell will host Wheaton on Wednesday September 10th at 4:30 p.m.
