Newton, Mass. - The Lasell College women's field hockey team dropped a 7-1 decision to Husson University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play. Francesca Ceppetelli nothced her first goal of the season for the Lasers in the loss. Husson University used five first half goals to earn the GNAC victory to improve to 1-0 in the league and 3-4 overall, while the loss leaves Lasell at 0-2 in the conference and 2-4 overall.
Cassie Aviles made 13 saves for the Lasers in goal, while Maicee Gustin saved 7 shots for Husson. Britt Mellor, Melissa Souza, Mariah Arno, Sabrina Vaillancourt, Kayla Grindle and Liz Nobbin each tallied goals for Husson on the day.
Lasell will return to their home field for a GNAC match against Rivier College on Wednesday September 19th at 4pm.
