WALKER SETS SCHOOL RECORD IN 9-2 WIN OVER ELMS

Caitlyn Walker (Middlebury, CT) set a career and school record of six goals in a game on Wednesday as the Lasers took home a 9-2 win over the Blazers of Elms College.  Walker, a junior forward, is currently leading the Lasers in multiple statistical categories, including points, goals, and game winning goals.

The Blazers opened the game with a quick 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game when Sarah Lapolice (West Springfield, MA) scored off an assist from Jillian Burrows (Pembroke, MA).

Just two minutes later, Walker tied the game with her first goal, at 4:34.  Stephanie Jansen (Glen, NH) and Tia Pratt (South Paris, ME) then broke the tie and took a 3-1 lead after registering their marks, each goal went unassisted.  Pratt scored on a breakaway, and Jansen's goal was off of a rebound.

Jansen and Pratt then assisted on each of Walkers next two goals, completing her first half hat trick.  Walker put in her fourth goal after rebounding her own shot to give the Lasers a commanding advantage, from which the Blazers never recovered.

Rookie forward Kasey Looney (Leicester, MA) scored her first collegiate goal to open the second half of play, followed closely behind by Elms' Ellen Silva (Palmer, MA), who completed the Blazers scoring.

Walker added her 14th and 15th goals of the season in the game's final 2:32 to finalize the game a 9-2.

Christine Thornton (Canton, MA) posted her 3rd win of the season, making 4 saves for the Lasers.
