Lasers Cruise to a 5-0 Victory Over Regis

Newton, MA- The Lasers picked up another win this afternoon at Grellier Field, raising their overall record to 3-6.  Lasell shut out the visiting Pride of Regis College by a score of 5-0, with Caitlyn Walker (Middlbury, CT) scoring 4 goals unassisted.

The Pride held Lasell scoreless for the majority of the first half, until 23:25, when Walkers first goal sent the Lasers on a roll.  Less than a minute after Walker scored, Justine McComb (Bloomfield, CT) found the back of the net to up the Lasers' advantage.  With eight seconds left in the first half, Walker snuck the ball past Regis' Kristen Tavares (Acushnet, MA) in goal, to finish the half 3-0.

After the break, the Lasers continued to ride on the momentum they started in the first half, attempting 15 shots in the second half alone.  Walker continued her outstanding play for the Lasers and registered her final two goals, finishing the game with eight points.

Lasell's Christine Thornton (Canton, MA) earns the shut out win as the Lasers' goal keeper, picking up two saves in the game.  Thornton also received help from Cara Hulse (Danbury, CT) who picked up a defensive save in the second half of play.

Tavares came out with 10 saves in the contest, while Regis' Laura Malloy (Windham, NH) was a presence on offense for the Pride with 5 shot attempts.

The Lasers have a four day break from games before taking on NAC rivals University of Maine, Farmington on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. and Thomas College on Sunday, at 1:00 p.m. Both conference games take place on Grellier Field.
