Morgan Choquet Named Director of Athletic Communications

NEWTON, Mass. — Lasell Athletics interim AVP and Dean of Student Affairs Dave Hennessey hired Morgan Choquet as Director of Athletic Communications.

In addition to her position as Director of Athletic Communications, Choquet also serves as the assistant coach of the Women's Lacrosse team.

Choquet returns to Lasell where she completed her bachelor's degree in sports management ('20) and her master's degree in sports management business administration ('23).

"I'm beyond ecstatic to be returning to Lasell and joining the department as Director of Athletic Communications," Choquet said.

During her time as a student at Lasell, Choquet spent four years on the women's lacrosse team. As she returns to the school within the athletic department, she hopes to "make a difference" for other athletes.

"My time at Lasell as a student were some of the best years of my life and to have the opportunity to be back and make a difference in the student-athletes experience means more than I could've imagined," Choquet said.

Choquet previously worked at Lesley University as the Sports Information Director and spent time interning with Wenworth Institute of Technology, earning the social media manager title during her time there.

Hennessey said that Choquet's background is what made the athletic department confident in her ability to take on the new position.

"Morgan has the advantage of intimate knowledge of Lasell and its operations, but also brings a wealth of experience developed already in her young career," Hennessey said.

While Hennessey said her previous experiences as the Sports Information Director at Lesley has a lot of the same responsibilities as her new position at Lasell, Hennessey said Choquet also has "dual perspectives of an insider and an outsider at Lasell."

In addition to her previous experience, Hennessey said Choquet had "superior" writing skills compared to other individuals seeking the position, and that her personality is what the communications team was looking for.

"...With the education, training, experience, and skills requisite firmly established, the final hurdle is personality and fit," Hennessey said. "The interviewers were clear that Morgan Choquet would be a valuable addition to the Athletic Department."

Choquet first stepped into the new role on March 18 and is set to meet with athletic game-day staff members on Thursday, March 21 for her first meeting with students as Director of Athletic Communications.
