NEWTON, Mass. (7/6/17) - Lasell College Director of Athletics Kristy Walter is pleased to announce the inaugural class of the Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2017 Hall of Fame class includes a pair of honorary inductees for the contributions they have made to the development of athletics at Lasell College, Nancy Curtis Grellier '49, and long-time faculty athletic representative Rick Frederics. Joining Grellier and Frederics will be four outstanding student-athletes, Mandi Rapisardi '06, Lou Lucchetti '06, Angele Lavioe '07, and Jose Guitian '09. "We are very excited to be honoring these six individuals for their contributions to the Lasell College athletic department and their respective programs. They helped establish a standard of excellence that current and future student-athletes will strive to attain. We believe this group is highly deserving of being the inaugural class to join the Lasell College Athletic Hall of Fame."
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday October 13th, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. during the college's Family, Friends and Alumni Weekend. Tickets for the cocktail hour, dinner and awards ceremony are $25.00 and can be purchased HERE.
Mandi Rapisardi
Mandi Rapisardi, class of 2006, was a dual threat in her time at Lasell, excelling in women's basketball and women's lacrosse. Rapisardi was a three-time NAC All-Conference honoree on the court where she ranks third on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,192 career points. She holds the single game record for steals in a game with 16, as well as most free throws in a season with 126 and a career with 363. Rapisardi helped the 2006 squad to a NAC East division championship in the regular season and a semifinal appearance. On the lacrosse field, Rapisardi's exploits were even more remarkable as she was named to the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance 1st team All-Conference all four years of her career, including winning Rookie of the Year in 2003 and Offensive Player of the Year in 2005 while helping her team to a pair of conference tournament semifinal appearances. She ranks first all-time in program history with 272 goals, third in career points with 322 and holds the single season record for goals with 98 set in 2006.
Lou Lucchetti
Louie Lucchetti, class of 2006, helped establish the men's lacrosse program in New England while compiling prolific numbers and helping the team to great success. The Lasers were 38-23 overall and 15-14 in the highly competitive Pilgrim League during Lucchetti's four years as the Newton, Mass. product earned 1st Team All-Conference honors every season while leading the team to the ECAC semifinals in his junior and senior campaigns. Lucchetti's name littered the record books when he finished his Lasell career, finishing as the career leader in points with 260 and assists with 158. His single season marks of 75 points in a season and 52 assists in a season still stand as single season records and his marks of 10 assists in a game and 11 points in a game remain single game records. His 2002 season saw him post 75 points, 40 goals and 35 assists, good for 5.4 points per game, the sixth best mark in the NCAA that year. His 2003 campaign saw him post a spectacular 3.5 assists per game, which was the highest mark in the country.
Angele Lavoie (Piotrowski)
Angele Lavoie Piotrowski, class of 2007, was an integral part of the women's volleyball program from 2003-2006 while helping the team to a 76-52 record including a 34-4 mark in North Atlantic Conference matches. The Lasers advanced to the NAC championship match every season of her career, she was named to an All-NAC team all four years including being a 1st team selection three times. Lavoie graduated as the all-time leader in career kills with 1,392 and aces with 427. She holds the single match record for kills in a 3-set match with 18 and is the only player in program history with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
Jose Guitian
Jose Guitian, class of 2009, put together one of the most storied careers on the hardwood at Lasell College. The 6'10 native of Miami, Fla. finished his career as the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,911 points, rebounder with 1,153 boards and shot blocker with 187 in his four years. The Lasers finished with a 67-45 record and a 49-16 mark in conference play capturing the 2008 GNAC championship and NCAA tournament bid. Guitian was a three time 1st team All-Conference selection, and was named the 2009 GNAC Player of the Year. His senior year he ranked fifth in the nation in points per game with an average of 24.2ppg and second in the country in rebounds per game at 13.7rpg. His 2008-09 exploits earned him a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region 2nd team, and D3 Hoops Honorable Mention All-American honors. Guitian was also named one of the ten finalists nationally for the Jostens Trophy, awarded annually to the Division III men's and women's basketball Athlete of the Year.

Nancy Curtis Grellier
Nancy Curtis Grellier, class of 1949, is a Trustee Emerita and is currently an active member of the Lasell College Alumni Association. Nancy's education at Lasell fostered her success in the world of business, where she started the WANT AD publications with her husband, Bill, in 1957. She was also the lead donor in the 2006 renovation of Grellier Field to convert the grass field to FieldTurf helping dramatically improve the experience of future Lasell College student-athletes.
Rick Frederics
Rick Frederics was a member of the faculty at Lasell College from 1997-2016. He was the Faculty Athletic Representative for 17 years and he was the first to hold this position. He was also the voice of the Lasers, acting as the pregame announcer for 15 years. An accounting professor, he always had the best interest of the student-athlete in mind and was an advocate for them with the faculty, staff and the administration. He understood the Division III philosophy and he truly cared about the athletes and making things better for them at Lasell. He was truly the voice of the Lasers, on the field, on the court and around campus always supporting and promoting the student-athletes.
