Why did you decide to attend Lasell? I chose to play soccer at Lasell after meeting Coach Vito at a recruiting event. When I came for a tour, I loved the small campus, the community atmosphere, and the highly-recommended Communication program.

Current Occupation/ Job Title Social Media Specialist at Curry College

Tell us about your job. What do you like most about your current role? I love working in higher education marketing and communications because I’m able to tell the stories of some incredible students and alumni. At Curry, I manage all institutional social media accounts while creatively distributing relevant content aligned with our strategic plan.

How did your experience at Lasell help prepare you for what you are doing today? Concentrated coursework and the field experience aspect of connected learning prepared me for my career in communications. In addition to a positive classroom experience, being a part of the women’s soccer team taught me valuable skills that I’ve applied to my professional life, such as strong communication, time management, and teamwork.

What advice/insight do you have for Lasell alumni and current student-athletes interested in your career field?  Networking is crucial, especially in the digital world we live in today. LinkedIn is a valuable tool for so many reasons (shoutout to Erin Vicente for making us create a LinkedIn page as a homework assignment!). Also, never stop learning! The marketing and communications field can be a competitive one, so make sure you’re always up to date with the latest trends, tools, and software.

Looking back on your time as a Lasell student-athlete, what is one of your favorite memories? A cliché response to anyone from the Lasell women’s soccer dynasty: winning three GNAC titles, and especially beating Amherst in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2012.

Have you attended Lasell Friends, Family and Alumni Weekend? If so, tell us about your experience returning to campus. Family, Friends, & Alumni Weekend holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. As an athlete, playing in front of a huge alumni crowd was a really great experience. As an alumna, I loved seeing my old teammates, coaches, and professors. I started dating my fiancé shortly after FFAW in 2012, who also played soccer at Lasell. We are getting married in August 2021.
